Story Horse Launches New ‘Chilly days out and Cosy nights in’ Collection

Beauty Blogger

You know when a new brand comes along and you just know it’s going to remain a favourite for a very long time; well, that’s how I feel about Story Horse. My initial introduction was via a PR Company inviting me to the launch.  Attached to the mail were some high res pics and a link to site www.storyhorse.com.  I’d browsed them on the web, but before even touching the products, I knew I would love them. Everything about this brand is near on perfect – I was hooked. Their website (that reads like a story book) is a joy to browse, the photography, the marketing, everything oozes passion and care.

Today’s most successful brands use online storytelling chiefly to develop relationships, create awareness amongst potential consumers and generate deep, long term investment -They “tell before they sell,”.  I sort of feel, about Story Horse, the way I felt about The White Company, when I was first introduced to it.

My invite to the exclusive blogger event @Malmaison Belfast, arrived a few days later, nestled in this cute little make-up pouch.

I was first to arrive at the event (I’m always the first to arrive), and immediately handed a glass of fizz, whilst being introduced to Commercial Director, Wendy Hamilton, and creator, Olive McCaughan. The room was, of course, laid out beautifully. Brightly coloured brollies hung from the ceiling, snuggly bauble hats, scarfs and mittens were arranged on shelves, and brightly coloured wellies were laid on the floor - Travel pouches, purses, luggage jewellery, you name it this brand has it.

Next door, in the bedroom was a perfectly made up bed, laid out with the snuggliest of throws, hot water bottle covers and to-die-for fleecy lined slouch socks, with contrast pom-poms (seriously, these socks are OMG cosy - comfort and luxe-lounging). The lovely beautician Jackie was stationed to offer the most divine hand massage while she talked through their toiletries range (yip, they sell toiletries too). My personal favourite was the luxurious Cold Hands Warm Heart hand cream infused with wild fig aroma and a little hit of vanilla – heavenly.

So over nibbles and drinks Wendy gave a chat about the brand……..

Fashion and accessory newcomer, Story Horse, has launched its new collection, aptly themed ‘Chilly days out and Cosy nights in’, which features a mix of luggage, knitwear, outdoor accessories, toiletries and jewellery.

The brand, which is exclusively available online, has its roots overlooking the tranquil Belfast Lough, in Northern Ireland.  The brand’s quirky name derives from the old Dublin saying ‘What’s the Story Horse’ (How are you? - How’s life?), and wishes “to encourage shoppers to not just buy, but join them on a unique journey; to create a unique story filled with adventures, where anything is possible.”

Brand creator Olive McCaughan, says; “Story Horse offers stylish women a beautiful range of practical products that are different to anything found on the high street. Using our extensive experience, we have gathered items that can be used every day, as well as a range of toiletries that offer a little bit of pampering heaven, in the comfort of your own home.”

The new collection is bursting with abundant, autumnal shades. From mustards and greens to blues and rich purples, creating a lasting, visual impression is key for Story Horse, this season.  The collection also uses a range of durable materials, like cotton and polyester, for luggage, and a wool acrylic mix, for knitwear.

Retro patterns run throughout the collections, mirroring the trending 1970s revival on the catwalks, this year. Floral motifs are a nod to this bright decade of fashion, while cable knitwear, with its contrasting pompoms, is a play to the ‘good old days’, when homemade knitwear was made with love, by your Mum or Nan.

Wendy added “hero products for the season are our clever luggage solutions, colourful wellies and umbrellas. The overnight bag is pretty, yet practical, and gives you extra room for essentials; the ‘on the go’ bag is another must, which can be used for everything from a baby bag to business travel.”

“We think the latest collection from the Story Horse brand marks a new direction, which will continue to evolve from season to season. We aim to create practical yet visually appealing lines, which are testaments to real and style-conscious women, the world over.”

The evening was wonderfully relaxed and it was fun chatting to all my fellow bloggers. Story Horse is impeccably stylish, beautifully designed fun products made to last and be loved. Nothing beats a good knit, and Story Horse’s current offerings will have you willing the temperatures to drop ASAP.
