Gifts to cosy up with.

It’s no secret, but I like to style my Christmas. Everything from the tree, to the wrapping, to the table … and everything in between. This year it’s green foliage (mostly pine), twinkle lights, white baubles (and accessories), and a peppering of mulberry (tissue, ribbon, and amaryllis). I also like to style my presents (no kidding), which is why gifting, from The White Company, fits perfectly with my vision.

I’m not a fan of ‘gift guides’, per se, but getting it right at Christmas can be tricky; and mastering the art of gift giving can leave us in a bit of a pickle. So, this post is just to highlight a couple of hero gifts, from one of my favourite stores; but, before I get to this year’s gift recommendations, of all things festive and stylish, I have to highlight the gift boxes.  No matter what you purchase, choose ‘add gift box’ at checkout (£5 extra) and your gift will arrive perfectly wrapped - premium white and black box, layer upon layer of tissue, fastened with matt black ribbon - and you’re good to go! Trust me, you’ll thank me later.

Pyjamas - £40 - £70

Let’s get started! Obviously, we’re spending a lot of time at home, currently (fingers crossed for that vaccine rollout). So, this list is a little bit hygge (cashmere features heavily). If ever there was a time to focus on a mood of cosiness, comfort, and contentment, it’s now. So, let’s kick off with these super cosy, brushed, 100%-cotton Moon & Star-Print pyjamas (sold as separates, hurrah!). They feature a delicate navy moon and star print, set against a white base, and smart navy piping. Team this with the matching pyjama bottoms or shorts. Who doesn’t love a new pair of jammies at Christmas?

Sweater Weather - £169

Cashmere sweater in biscuit. Not cheap, at £169, but this is my idea of everyday luxury (I’d wear this on Christmas morning).  Crafted from pure cashmere, super lightweight, yet incredibly warm. This has rib detailing on the neckline, cuffs, and hem, while dropped shoulders give it a relaxed-yet-flattering silhouette. Pair with the matching joggers for head-to-toe luxury style (yes please Santa?). The White Company sweaters come very true to size, so need for second guessing.

Cashmere Essential Scarf - £98

Now, there are some items you could buy me, on repeat, year-after-year, and I’d still be happy. Cashmere scarfs are one of those things. I’ve selected this super-soft ‘essential’ scarf, but there’s also a thicker ribbed one (nice colour) @ £139; though, I prefer the less chucky one. At 100% pure cashmere, it’ll keep out the chill, but the fact it's light, means that it should hang beautifully.  Matching hat and gloves available too.

Cosy Eye Mask & Throw Set - £50

Netflix and chill, then drift off for a luxury nap. Personally, I could never have enough throws; and my niece, who is only 25, would adore this set.  Super-soft, generously sized, pure cotton throw and a soft eye mask comes with a matching travel bag, which is just the perfect size to slip over the handle of a suitcase, with room to add other makeup, skincare and accessories. A wonderful gift for loved ones looking to snuggle up wherever they are. Some of my throws, from The White Company, are over 15 years old. They definitely stand the test of time.

Cashmere Bed Socks £36

A treat for your feet, I’ve been buying these for years and EVERYONE loves receiving them.  Exquisitely soft, heavenly cashmere bed socks, what more can I say.

All of the above would make a luxurious addition to any cold-weather wardrobe.

Leather AirPods Case £30

I was going to suggest this fabulous leather AirPods case, but it’s sold out (why did I hesitate?).  Equal parts stylish and practical, fingers crossed it comes back into stock, I’d love this.

The White Company Signature Bath Mat £20

Not sure why I love this, but I do.  All my bathmats are from The White Company and they come out of the washing machine perfect, every time. Most of us have guests, over the holiday period, so this would be a stylish refresh for a visitor’s bathroom. Not a fan of blazing logos, but this looks hotel bathroom stylish, without being over the top. And, while you're at it ... pop in this glorious Seychelles scented, hand wash and hand cream, and turn your spare bedroom into a five-star getaway.

'For the Love of White' Book by Chrissie Rucker OBE

I’ve bought this book for three people, so far. Sighted as one of the most giftable coffee-table books of 2020, mine, I have to say, is nestled neatly in my Fortnum & Mason hall basket, entwined in twinkle lights, amongst my Farrow & Ball moss green pumpkins (I know autumn is almost over, but I can’t bear to throw them away as they’re still thriving!).  The definitive guide to creating a home. Always a talking point.

Thanks for reading, Jackie.
